Kekoa began competing at age eight and has since blossomed into one of Hawaii’s newest up and coming professionals. As an amateur, Kekoa developed a very powerful but smooth style which carried him to back-to-back US Open Junior titles in 2002 and 2003. In 2004, Kekoa was one of the youngest competitors to qualify into the main event for the WCT Rip Curl Pro at Sunset. Now entering his second full year on the WQS, Kekoa’s main focus is to qualify for the WCT and compete with the world’s best elite surfers. [ more ]
